About Aotearoa Lawyers for Peace
Aotearoa Lawyers for Peace is an association of lawyers and law students working to:
- abolish nuclear weapons
- increase respect for international peace and disarmament law
- further develop legal mechanisms for the peaceful settlement of disputes
We work on these issues;
- the illegality of nuclear weapons
- nuclear disarmament
- strengthening and expanding nuclear-weapon-free zones
- the International Criminal Court
- Nuclear terrorism
- Legal alternatives to war and aggression
- the elimination of chemical and biological weapons, landmines and cluster munitions
- the demilitarization of space

Aotearoa Lawyers for Peace is an affiliate of the International Association of Lawyers Against Nuclear Arms (IALANA) , an international coalition of lawyers' groups from around the world.
